Company History
For seven years, the University of Colorado’s National Mental Health Innovation Center staff established themselves as an internationally-recognized leader in digital mental health. The first organization of its kind, NMHIC worked closely with tech developers, clinical providers, investors, governments, health systems, universities, and employers to do everything possible to ensure that people in need of mental health support have access to a wide range of digital tools that are engaging and effective.
NMHIC helped companies develop content, conduct trials and evaluations, guide implementation, create new use cases and products, and become more commercially successful.
NMHIC received international recognition as a leading voice in the rapidly growing field of digital mental health. Still, over time it became clear that maximizing impact in a rapidly-changing field would require moving to the private sector, where they could be faster and more agile. In the fall of 2022, the leadership and staff at NMHIC left CU to form VXVY Mental Health. Building off their experience and success at NMHIC, VXVY has created expanded service lines and a robust, only-of-its-kind network membership model. With a formal partnership with Tulane University School of Social Work, VXVY combines the agility of a stand-alone organization with the research infrastructure and credibility of one of the top universities in the US.
We started VXVY because we believe that the best way to improve the mental well-being of millions of people is to help shape mental health technology, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
What Makes Us So Unique
VXVY Mental Health is the only organization of its kind. Our service offerings are far more expansive than a consulting company. Our staff has deep experience in digital mental health because we’ve been at this for seven years. We are more flexible, versatile, and cost-effective than a contract research organization. We are more agile and less bureaucratic than universities or health systems. We are more accessible and offer more than traditional tech accelerators. And our network membership model enables members to connect, partner with, and learn from peers in every conceivable industry.
What We Do
Our expertise and process impact commercial strategy, product development, organizational deployment, clinical evaluation, and research to ensure that digital mental health products are effective. The VXVY ecosystem accelerates technology development and adoption, ultimately building products efficiently and benefiting end-users faster throughout the community, nationally and internationally.
How We Do It
Our services are built on a diverse and engaged membership, supplement existing processes, and enhance the digital mental health ecosystem. By understanding the specific needs of individual member organizations, we tailor our services and continue to iterate as needs change over time. We work collaboratively to optimize the opportunities across our network.
The Deal With Our Weird Name
Vx and Vy are aviation terms to describe the optimal take off speed and angle for an airplane to avoid obstacles and quickly get to cruising altitude. Together Vx and Vy make a perfect analogy for how we approach the work we do with our partners in bringing amazing digital mental health products to market. Pronounce it VIX-VEE. Vowels are overrated.
